NMC’s Workshop Department’s step towards Clean India Mission

Nagpur: Municipal Corporations seem to be strictly following the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Clean India campaign in the big and small cities. In Nagpur too, under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner Health Department’s Chief Dr Pradeep Dasarwar has been continuously trying follow it. Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) Zone Chiefs have been strictly instructed to follow the Clean India Campaign.

It was NMC’s Workshop Department which first came forward and painted the wall with painting, cleaned the premises and now planting of saplings is going on. Under the Cleanliness campaign every Municipal Corporation has to complete 17 standards over which they will get grade. Over this gradation Union Government’s concerned department will give them awards. NMC Health department is trying its level best to reach the top.


Similarly, the ‘Green and Clean’ NGO working under the leadership of Workshop Department’s Chief have making paintings on the outer and inner walls depicting cleanliness. According to NGO’s Chief Sandip Mankar 17 artistes of this organisation are working on this. They also take up tree plantation. Most of the expenditure has been done by the NGO. In this organisation there are total 70 members. All these members devote their Saturday and Sunday time towards this cause.

This NGO holds workshops in slum areas and schools and then with their help take up the cleanliness programme and plant saplings to maintain the ecological balance in the area. They have planted lemon and mango trees. According to them the temperature in the city will rise due to cement roads and to balance the same it is necessary to plant saplings.
