NMC undertakes “Save Energy Campaign” on Full Moon Night

Nagpur Municipal Corporation and Green Vigil Foundation on Tuesday jointly undertook a “Save Energy Campaign” on Pournima (Full Moon Night), for one hour from 8 pm to 9 pm.

The programme was organized at Shahid Shankar Mahalle Statue premises near Zenda Chowk, Mahal. NMC’s Transport Committee Chairman Bandu Raut led the campaign in which lights and different electrical equipments were switched off for one hour.

Others who participated in the programme include Women and Child Welfare Committee Chairperson Rashmi Fadnavis, Gandhibagh Zone Chairperson Prabha Jagnade, Corporators Rajesh Ghodpage, Vandana Ingole, Executive Engineer (Electricity) Sanjay Jaiswal, Green Vigil Foundation’s Kaustubh Chatterjee and others.

During the campaign, a number of homes, offices, business establishments, hotels and street lights from Zenda Chowk Mahal to Gandhigate, Old Shukrawari Road towards Great Nag Road, Gangabai Ghat Road, and road going to Central Avenue and other parts voluntarily switched off the lights and electricity apparatus and cooperated with the save energy campaign.
