NMC to resolve grievances of authorised users of markets in April 29 meeting

The Market Department of Nagpur Municipal Corporation has organised a meeting on April 29 in which grievances of authorised shopkeepers, otta holders and land holders regarding rental charges would be heard and resolved. The meeting will be held at 12 noon on April 29 in Panjabrao Deshmukh Hall of Standing Committee in Civil Lines Headquarters of NMC.

The meeting follows submission of several memorandums regarding fixation of rental charges from various organisations of authorised vendors in NMC-owned markets. The charges are being recovered from authorised shopkeepers, otta holders and land holders in accordance with the resolution of Standing Committee passed on July 14, 2016. The civic body has set up a one-member committee headed by Pravin Datke to go through the memorandums and other subjects. The Mayor Nanda Jichkar has been authorised to arrive at a decision once the report by the Datke Committee is submitted.

In the April 29 meeting, the Datke Committee will hear the grievances/suggestions of various organisations of authorised shopkeepers, otta holders and land holders regarding rental charges. Datke has asked two representatives of each organisation along with President, Secretary to attend the meeting.
