NMC Contractors Welfare Association Elections: 46 nominations filed, scrutiny today

As the date of first-time elections in NMC Contractors Welfare Association is nearing day-by-day, a tough fight between Sheikh Ramzan faction and Vijay Nayudu faction is ascertained. While Ramzan faction has filed 20 nomination papers the Nayudu faction has filed 26 nomination papers. The scrutiny of all 46 nomination papers is scheduled today. The final list of contestants will be published on July 30.

It may be mentioned that Vijay Nayudu from Nayudu faction and Syed Gousuddin (Engineer) from Ramzan faction will be contesting for the post of president of the association. Ramzan is said to have fielded competent candidate for the post of president.

Vijay Nayudu himself has filed 3 nominations (3 sets) for the post of president while Gousuddin (Ramzan faction) has filed only one set. Two candidates of Nayudu faction have filed 5 nominations while 5 candidates of Ramzan faction have filed 11. Even Sanju Choube and Jivraj mankar have also filed their nominations one each for the post of president.

As many as 4 nominations have been filed for the post of vice-president, and they include Prakash Potpuse -2, and Sanju Chobe and Raju Wankar one each.
Similarly, 6 nominations have been filed for the post of secretary, and they include Nandu Dhote (Ramzan faction)-2, and Nayudu faction’s Sanju Choube, Narendra Hatwar, Yogesh Baghele and Mohd Saleem one each.

For the post of joint secretary, 8 nominations have been filed. They include Sunil Kamble -2, Sheikh Iqbal, Vinod Madavi, Suresh Gedam, Anant Jagneet, Vijay Waghadeand Roshan Salve one each. For the post of treasurer, 6 nominations have been filed. They include Vinod Dandare-2, mahesh Chendke, Matin Ahmed and Raju Wanjari one each.

For the post of executive members 16 nominations have been filed. They include Sunil Abhichandani and Rakesh Harshe 2 each; Jiya Jagdish, Sanjay Ramteke, Pravin Ghoradkar, Kunal Bante, Vinod Madavi, Narendra Hatwar, Dipak Admane, Raju Wanjari, Vijay Waghade, Vinay Ghate, Mahadeo Somkuwar and Yogesh Baghele one each.

The Association of contractors has 490 members, some of whom are said to be politically interested in the elections. As there is no nomination fee prescribed, the candidates are filing their nominations for more than post. As far as election strategy is concerned, it is possible that when the time comes, Matin Ahmed, Mohd Saleem and Mankar of Nayudu faction may withdraw their nominations from the election process.
