Hyderabad: The National Investigation Agency on Wednesday busted a suspected ISIS terror module and detained 11 people for questioning in Hyderabad.

The raid was conducted in Moghalpura area of the city.

The module was busted in a joint operation of the NIA and the Hyderabad police.

11 people have been taken into custody from 10 raids at the old quarters of the IT-city.

The detained men were in touch with their handlers in Syria and were plotting attacks in India, NIA officials said.

Firearms, ammo and currency notes worth Rs 15 lakh have also been seized from them. The suspects were questioned about their source of financing and laptops were also found.

The raids come at a time when parts of the city are virtually under siege, with advocates and lawyers intensifying a strike that has been on for over three weeks.

Prohibitory orders are in place in the entire area. Searches are still going on.
