NEET 2017 Exam Date likely to be extended? Students ask SC to move date

New Delhi: Now that the release of admit card of NEET exam has been delayed, there have been reports that NEET 2017 Exam is likely to be extended. However as a per a recent update, Supreme Court dismissed the PIL relating to NEET UG Exam date and the exam will held will be held on schedule May 7, 2017. Recently, the students have asked the Supreme Court to move date for the NEET UG exam which is scheduled to be conducted for MBBS and BDS exam. This year, it was recently announced that the upper age limit for the aspirants has been raised. The students believe that the NEET exam is a single gateway for admission to all medical course for this academic session or else whole year would be wasted for the eligible freshers who were good enough to crack this year and it should be properly administered.

It has also been announced that admit cards for NEET cards for the year 2017 was expected to release on April 15. However, now the admit cards for NEET 2017 will be out on April 22, 2017. Allotment of centre is made by Computer and there is no human intervention. Under no circumstances the allotted centre shall be changed by the Board. The candidates can download Admit Card for the Examination from website www.cbseneet.nic.in.

In order to be eligible for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses for a particular academic year, which will be necessary for a candidate to obtain minimum marks in ‘National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test’ held for the said academic year besides obtaining minimum prescribed marks at the qualifying examination.

The reservation of seats in Medical/Dental colleges for respective categories shall be as per applicable laws prevailing in States/Union Territories. An all India merit list of the eligible candidates shall be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained in National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for admission in MBBS/BDS courses from the said lists only.
