Needos Bar
Nagpur: Needos bar has been in the hit list of Dhantoli police for over few days, as the bar owner Rajeev Jaiswal has refused to mend ways. In less than a fortnight’s time, Dhantoli police have raided Needos bar for the second time and conducted challan action for illegally organising orchestra. However no liquor was recovered from the spot but sources claimed otherwise.

The bar owner has reportedly adopted fool proof mechanism to avoid action during the raid. A CCTV installed outside the bar alert the bartenders and in the nick of time they get the hard drinks on every table replaced with soft drinks and make it look like a plain musical event. Sources reported that it usually takes 5 minutes to reach the place where dance bar is being operated inside Needos. This gives ample time to the bar employees to turn the tables.

The bar owner Rajeev Jaiswal has reportedly tried to influence the cops by asking them to stay away or he would move the High Court against them.

The police have worked up the challan against bar owner under section 33 R/O, 131 (1) of Maharashtra Police Act.
When Nagpur Today spoke to Commissioner of Police K Venkatesham in this regard, he warned of strict action against Needos bar owner.

It may be mentioned that on Friday at around 11 pm the District Collector Sachin Kurve had directed the Excise Department SP Swati Kakde to conduct raid on Needos bar. Later a case was registered at Dhantoli police station.
Sources reported that serving liquor has become a daily feature at Needos bar where the illegal act has been carried out under the garb of organising cultural event.

Meanwhile sources reported that apart from liquor the bar is also suspected to be serving contrabands like charas to their special customers. The customers are also given the escape route through secret exit in the event of raids.
