Nagpur: Considering the catastrophe caused in Uttar Pradesh due to absence of oxygen cylinder which claimed lives of 63 innocent children, a survey was conducted in Nagpur to analyse the situation.

The medical and super speciality hospitals of the city have a stock of oxygen cylinders for around four days. More than 1300 patients are treated in 49 different wards of the hospital on a daily basis.

170-180 oxygen cylinders are required in the hospital per day. These are supplied by a private company. Based on the data given, it can be anticipated that situation of Nagpur is better as compared to that of Gorakhpur.

The supply of oxygen on a daily basis, decreases the chances of any mishap like that of Gorakhpur.
