The maker Sanjay Leela Bhansali who is also the music director of this movie, is in the awe of its success. However little did he know that he would find a new talent in his new music assitant Shreyas Puranik, a 23 year old music enthusiast and composer from Nagpur, whom he signed as an assistant for this project.

To begin with, Puranik got his first break as a composer from Bajirao Mastani which went on to rule the chartbusters in terms of its music. Puranik has composed Gajanana song from the movie and has also sang Tujhe jane na dungi which had to be edited out from the movie due the movie’s length issues. Now the latest buzz is that this young talent from aapla Nagpur has managed to impress Sanjay Leela Bhansali through his impeccable composition and great understanding of the tunes. So much so that now Bhansali has confirmed him for his next production.

Confirming the news, Shreyas Puranik told Nagpur Today, “Yes I will be doing his next production as a composer.” He refused to divulge more details as he thought it would be early to comment on the same. However he shared that soon an announcement would be officially made in this regard.

Sharing his city connect, Shreyas said that he is born and brought up in Nagpur and his parents stay in Pratap Nagar area of the city. He said, “I have the knack for music since childhood. Since my father was transferred to Chhattisgarh I also happened to live there for 6 years. Later I moved to Mumbai and pursued my B.Com from Mithibai college while also getting admission to Suresh Wadkar’s music school.”

Revealing about his first break he told, “Sureshji introduced my work to Sanjay Leela Bhansali who liked it and the next moment I was signed as an assistant. And the rest is history. I am happy that now I am doing my second project with Sanjayji.”

In the meantime Shreyas has ventured into Marathi cinema by debuting as composer in soon to be released movie PhotoCopy. “I have composed a song in this movie which also marks my debut in Marathi cinema,” he quipped.
Shreyas has also composed songs for an album Morey Piya rendered by Suresh Wadkar and his wife Padma.
The album was released last year and the launch event in Mumbai was also attended by the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, he informed.
