Nagpur: Nagpur Branch of ICAI organized the 09th edition of Chartered Accountant Premier League (CAPL- 2017) recently. Dhanashri S. Lekurwale, World and Asia Yoga Champion was Chief Guest and industrialist Rahul Soni Nagpur was Guest of Honor at the concluding award ceremony. Dhanashree Lukurwale highlighted the importance of sports in busy & stressful life. One should choose any sport of their interest and should do it regularly which will definitely help them in being fit and active.
In the fast moving world where everybody is busy in their professional life, it is very important to understand the importance of being healthy as well. Being healthy does not only keep the person healthy but also it keeps the entire family happy. She narrated her life journey from starting at local level and reaching to the international level and winning multiple prizes for the country. She added that getting the award for your country gives you an amazing feeling and that inspires you to do it more and more. Unless a person is focused on the goal, it’s not possible to achieve the target and for that we should be ready to give the sacrifices for the goals.
Rahul Soni expressed that it’s good to see Chartered Accountants who are normally busy working in offices can also play cricket and also the way in which this competition is organized will inspire many others to join the league. Many people are totally ignorant about the importance of sports and being fit but it’s really good to see chartered accountants who are vigilant about having good health as well. He assured for all possible support in whatever form in future for organizing such kind of events.
CA. Abhijit Kelkar congratulated the teams for the wonderful game of cricket and also for playing exceptionally well in the entire tournament. He congratulated the Managing Committee of Nagpur Branch for the successful coordination of the mega event.
CA. Sandeep Jotwani, Chairman in his welcome remarks mentioned that this tournament is organized to give chartered accountants a break from their hectic work schedule and foster fellowship amongst members. Since past many months Chartered Accountants who are busy in numerous compliances and learning new developments in various acts. This tournament is to promote the importance of being healthy and also a stress buster after the months full of hard work. This being a signature event of Nagpur Branch is also a platform to built fellowship amongst members of the branch.
In the 3 day tournament 7 Teams consisting exclusively of Chartered Accountants participated enthusiastically. More than 300 Chartered Accountants as players and spectators were involved in the event. Total 23 matches were organized in the tournament between 7 teams in league, Semi Final and Final format. In the closely contested and nail biting final match Amit Agrawal & Associates Known XI won the tournament by beating BPSD Maratha Warriors.
