Motorcyclist dies in road mishap

Speed thrills but kills is a slogan by the Road Safety Department which the youth often seem to be ignoring resulting in fatal mishaps. In a freak accident that occurred in Hurkeshwar area, a motorcyclist who was riding his motorcycle with his friend in the pillion seat in a rash and negligent manner hit another two-wheeler and fell down. However, he fell down and was critically injured and died on the spot within a few seconds.

According to police sources, the complainant identified as Devendra Chetaram Deheriya aged 46-years and a resident of Plot No 97, Surendra Nagar, Near Tatya Tope Hall, Pratap Nagar, Nagpur was going from Manish Nagar towards Rameshwari on his Honda Activa bearing RTO Registration No. MH-31/ CZ6266 with his wife seated on the pillion seat.

When the couple neared Rudra Bar on Beltirodi to Rameshwari Road, the deceased victim identified as Aniket alias Bunty Gajanan Shende aged 17 years and a resident of Plot No 11-B, Shyam Nagar, Near Bhandare Marriage Hall, Nagpur was going along with his friend in the pillion seat came speeding in a negligent manner his Bajaj Pulsar Pulsar bearing RTO Registration No. MH-31/ DP 9894, and hit the couple on Honda Activa.

However, in the mishap, he fell down and sustained critical injuries causing him to breathe his last on the spot. His speeding and causing an accident also caused grievous injuries to his friend who was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital where he is undergoing treatment for critical injuries.

On the basis of the complaint lodged by Devendra Deheriya, Woman Police Sub-Inspector Kakney of Hudkeshwar Police Station registered a case under sections 279, 338 and 304 (A) of Indian Penal Code against the errant deceased youth.
