Nagpur: The impoverished residents of Pardi’s Division 25 visited Congress Corporator, Purushottam Hazare demanding the presence of a doctor in area’s Ayurvedic Hospital. It is worth mentioning that the hospital does not have a doctor for past four months now.

In the mentioned period, more than 6000 patients visited the hospital only to return in absence of a doctor. Reacting positively to the complaints of residents, Hazare reprimanded the hospital authorities and warned of closure of the hospital in failure of proper functioning. “I had written to Health Officer Dr. Anil Chivahne in June and informed him about the ongoing issues. I had also demanded of appointing a doctor and arrangement of equipments & medicines at the earliest. My demand was, however, overlooked”, said Hazare.

It is second serious allegation against Dr. Chivhane. A similar incident was witnessed in the General meet a few days ago when independent corporator Abha Pandey had openly blamed the doctor of neglect in discharge of duties. Nevertheless, no action was taken against him. The Modi foundation members have demanded removal of Dr. Chivhane from his position and appointment of a more responsible officer.

Hazare informed that Dr. Amate was working at the hospital until he resigned in June. After which, instead to appointing another doctor for the position it was left vacant the consequences of which are being borne by the poor patients. Although, a temporary arrangement was made for a few days, the position remains vacant.
