The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on September 21, 2014 had written and directed all the CBSE schools  to make  arrangements for the live telecast of the Mars Orbit Insertion of the Indian Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) scheduled for September 24, 2014.

Though the live coverage of the event will be showcased on Doordarshan, but looking at its exclusivity and significance, A.R.T.I Director Dr. Sadhana Parashar wanted that the students should not miss such a spectacular event.

According to ISRO, Doordarshan and Webcast will telecast the live event on September 24, 2014, from 06:45 hrs IST onwards.

The Board has advised the schools to make the necessary arrangements for the students to witness the event in the best learning atmosphere, i.e. in their classrooms.

The Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM), also called Mangalyaan, is India’s first interplanetary mission to the planet Mars.

However, due to such a short notice and the technical support involved in it most of the CBSE Schools in Nagpur are not going to conduct the live web telecast of Mangalyaan.

Principal of Modern School Neeru  Kapai  told Nagpur Today  that we will try to do it. Since September 23, 2014 was a holiday, the arrangements for the event would take a long time. However, we will surely arrange to record the entire telecast, so that it can viewed later by the students and can become a study material for future reference too.

Principal of BVM Trimurti Nagar informed that as the evaluation process is going on in their school so it won’t possible for them to participate in the event.
