Nagpur: The eminent victory of Dr Parinay Phuke, BJP’s candidate from Gondia-Bhandara Legislative Council seat in the freshly held MLC elections on 6 seats, has certainly set the equation upside down at the concerned seat. Gondia-Bhandara is famous as the bastion of NCP stalwart Prafulla Patel, and the victory of Dr Phuke from this seat is trendsetting in more ways than one. Phuke was earlier being sidelined as the outsider as he belonged to Nagpur.

Phuke’s victory has stunned poll analysts who were assuming NCP’s clean sweep. Insiders claimed that Phuke’s win was scripted in Mumbai two days before the election. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis called upon a with Gondia Bhandara MLA Gopaldas Agrawal. Both of them arrived at common understanding regarding the second vote.

The discussion were reportedly kept under the wraps and the second vote did the wonders. In the second round Phuke got 66 votes whereas NCP’s Rajendra Jain backed by Prafulla Patel had to do with 21 votes only. Surprisingly Prafulla Agrawal of Congress could not manage even a single vote.
