Nagpur: In an incident of wee hour arson, unidentified miscreants torched a Maruti Swift car in Gittikhadan area and put the owner at a loss of Rs 4 lakh. The arsonists have been booked and a search is on to trace them.
The complainant, Avadesh Srikrishna Kesri (32), resident of D-4, Prestige Residency, Deepak Nagar, Katol Road, had parked his Maruti Swift car (MH-31/WV 8706) in front of his house. In the wee hours (3.10 am) of Wednesday, unidentified miscreants set the car ablaze for unknown reasons. The blazing car caught attention of Avadesh who immediately informed police and Fire Brigade as well. Both the forces reached the spot and doused the fire but not before the car reduced to mangle of steel. Avadesh was put at a loss of Rs 4 lakh by the act of the unidentified miscreants.
Gittikhadan PSI Danade, based on a complaint of Avadesh, registered an offence under Section 435 against the accused and searching for them.
