Collector of Nagpur, Sachin Kurve, IAS, has become ex. officio Joint Managing Director of Maharashtra Airport Development company ltd., a nodal agency of government of Maharashtra with the mandate to develop the MIHAN project. It is learnt that in this capacity he has been given given full fledged power of VC& MD of MADC for MIHAN Nagpur though Vishwas Patil will remain MD formally.
As it is all the land acquisition and rehabilitation work of MIHAN comes under the administrative power of Collector so he has already been involved in this landmark project. Now it is learnt that Vishwas Patil, also an IAS officer but based out of Mumbai, vide a letter dated 11.11.2016 has delegated all the powers of VC& MD of MADC and MIHAN including day to day work to Sachin Kurve. This has been done explicitly on the instructions of the C.M. Devendra Fadnavis who is also Chairman of MADC.
By this appointment there will be a much needed momentum to the delayed works of rehabilitation of MIHAN Project Affected People (PAPs) said VC & MD of MADC Vishwas Patil. Sachin Kurve also has plans to expedite all the delayed works of rehabilitation for MIHAN on priority. Marketing activity will also get a boost since the decisions will be made from Nagpur itself. Till now, the Marketing team of MIHAN had to keep rushing to Mumbai for meetings and getting instructions.
In the past too, Pravin Darade, the then Collector of Nagpur had served as Joint Managing Director of MADC.
