Andhra Pradesh: Chittoor is a town of Andhra Pradesh. This town just witnessed the shocking incident of the Mayor of their Municipal Corporation, Katari Anuradha, being shot dead at point blank range in her office at 12 noon today. Her husband Mohan was also shot and then attacked with knives. His condition is critical and he is hospitalized.
It is learnt that some burqua clad men barged in into the Mayor’s office armed with guns, knives and swords. They first shot at Anuradha and Mohan and then attacked him with knives. The Mayor died on the way to the hospital while her husband is critical. They both belong to the Ruling Telgu Desam party.
The police suspect family rivalry and political feud too behind this ghastly crime. Katari Mohan is the main accused on the attack of Chittoor MLA CK Raju.
Preliminary enquiries suggest that the assailants came from Bengluru. Two are in police custody. The Mayor is also supposed to have been strict again some Crime Mafia.
