Mayor inaugurates blood donation camp in Laxmi Nagar Zone

“Blood donation is best donation of all. Saving a life by donating blood is greatest work. With this aspect in mind, the NMC and Arpan Blood Bank jointly started a blood bank at Gandhinagar Hospital. Through this blood bank, the patients of sickle cell and thalassemia are provided blood free of cost. The blood donation camps on the line of Laxminagar Zone should be organized in all other 10 zones of NMC,” said Mayor Pravin Datke while inaugurating a blood donation camp. The blood collected in the bank will be provided to sickle cell and thalassemia patients in the city. The blood donation camp was organized by Chairman of Laxmi Nagar Zone Gopal Bohre and the employees coming under the zone.

At the outset, the Mayor garlanded the portraits of Goddess Saraswati and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and later lighted the traditional lamp to mark inauguration of the blood donation camp.

Other dignitaries present on the occasion include Ruling Party Leader Dayashankar Tiwari, Deputy Leader Munna Yadav, Estate Committee Chairman Sandeep Joshi, Laxmi Nagar Zone Chairman Gopal Bohre, Corporators Jayashri Wadibhasme, Nilima Bawne, Pallavi Shyamkule, Ushatai Nishitkar, Zone Assistant Commissioner Ganesh Rathod, Arpan Blood Bank’s Vaishnavi Patki and others.
