Nagpur: Mankapur police have arrested a young man on the charges of abusing and outraging modesty of a 21-year old girl in the middle of the road on Tuesday evening. The man has also been charged with doling out life threat to the girl if she did not marry with him.
Identified as Rohit Prem Gedam (25), the accused is resident of Mankapur, near Ranu School. The victimised girl and her sister were returning home walking around 5.30 pm on Tuesday. Midway, the accused Rohit Gedam stopped the girl and asked her to marry with him. As the girl snubbed him over the atrocious demand, the accused Rohit first indulged in obscene acts and later hurled filthy abuses on her. He even threatened to kill the girl for her refusal to marry with him.
Mankapur API L K Hande, acting on the girl’s complaint, booked the accused Rohit Gedam under Sections 341, 354, 294, 506(B) of the IPC and reportedly arrested him.
