A middle aged man was duped to the tune of Rs 25 lakh in a partnership deal. Cops have booked a youth in this connection.
The complainant has been identified as Mohd Suleman Maideen Bawa (50), resident of Plot No. 107, French Colony, Nagpur. The accused Mushtaq Ahmed Abdul Hakim (23) of Jaffer Nagar, approached Mohd Suleman between 5.11.14 and 24.4.15 with a lucrative deal . He falsely told Mohd Suleman that he is planning to set up a ‘Chiwda Farsan’ (Sweetmeat) factory at Plot No. 19 in Chaudhary Layout, Anant Nagar. The accused Mushtaq Ahmed lured Mohd Suleman to become a partner in his factory and even took Rs 25 lakh from him for the same. However, the plan of the accused turned out to be fictitious one and was aimed at duping Mohd Suleman. Realising that he has been cheated, Mohd Suleman registered a case at Gittikhadan Police Station against the accused.
Senior PSI Bawankar, acting on the complaint, booked the accused Mushtaq Ahmed Abdul Hakim under Section 420 of IPC and investigating the matter further.
