Madam arrested and two women rescued from flesh trade

Nagpur: In a surprise raid undertaken by the Social Security Cell of Crime Branch on October 29, 2014, the cops arrested a madam and rescued two women involved in prostitution.

The Social Security Cell of Crime Branch received a tip off from an informant that prostitution is going on in an independent bungalow in Taj Nagar near Tukdoji Statue.

According to police sources, the accused is identified as Munni Bai Maqsud Pathan aged 40 years and a resident of Plot No 28 of Taj Nagar. The accused Madam (woman in charge of a brothel) is said to be running the flesh trade racket for the past 3-4 years in the independent bungalow.

The In-charge of Social Security Cell PI Powar said that the moment the accused lady was arrested, all the neighbours from the entire area poured out from their homes and bungalows. They all thanked the Crime Branch officials for arresting the accused and cleaning the area.

The Security Cell of Crime Branch carried out a well planned raid. They had sent two punters and arrested the madam and rescued two women. They had seized Rs 2000 from the spot during the raid. The first arrested woman is aged 25 years old and is a resident of Rambagh. This lady has allegedly married for the second time and is the second wife of a man. This lady has two sons. One aged 9 years and the second aged 3 years. She is allegedly in this trade for a long time and is in the flesh trade to earn some extra easy money for her personal needs. (Not for subsisting or existence)

The second lady is aged 36 years and a resident of Rambagh and also involved in the flesh trade for a long time. This lady is allegedly involved in the flesh trade to pay the installments of the newly purchased Honda Activa scooter.

The Madam used to charge customers Rs 1000 per head and used to give Rs 500 to the women and keep 500 for herself.
The entire operation was undertaken under the guidance of Additional Commissioner (Nagpur City) Anup Kumar Singh, Assistant Commisioner of Police (Crime) Nilesh Raut, In-charge of Social Security Cell PI B M Powar, PSI Amita Jaipurkar, PSI R N Kohle, APSI Madne, Police Constable Pandurang Nikure, Constables Gopal Vaidya, Ajay Ghatod, WPC Surekha Sandekar, Driver PC Nilesh Wadekar, Photographer Baliram Rewatkar and Social Worker Rubina Hanif Patel.

The crime branch has registered a case under sections 3, 4, 5 and 7 of Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA) 1986 against the accused and are investigating further.
