Nagpur: In an alleged fallout of a love triangle a young man hanged himself at his home in Martin Nagar. The man identified as Prakash Jakhar aka James, 21, was humiliated after being beaten up by a man who was wearing khaki uniform. Closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras at the gym captured clear images of the assailant.
Sources said that James resorted to the extreme step as he felt insulted after being beaten up twice in front of his gym clients and colleagues. Other trainers said he was depressed since a couple of days.
James was in a romantic relationship with 26-year-old Suzy James, who stayed in his neighbourhood, since a year. However, sources close to James’s family claimed that she was in a relationship with the unknown man who was caught on camera. Hence, a love triangle could be the reason behind James’s death, added sources.
James committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling rod with a nylon rope at his home at Martin Nagar on Tuesday around 5:30pm while his mother Elizabeth (58) was not at home. It was Elizabeth who saw James, her only son, hanging and alerted the neighbours. Police were also summoned to the spot. No suicide note was recovered, police said. An accidental death case was registered at Jaripatka police station on Tuesday.
