Nagpur: The department conducted operations at the establishment named New Five Star Bakery, 181, Habib Nagar, Teka Naka, Kamptee Road, Nagpur. The dealer Shri Akram Hussain is trading in bakery products. As per the annual return of 2013-14 filed by the dealer, his purchase value is about Rs. 15.38 Crore and filed false return by shows no liability of LBT payment & shows all purchases made from local dealers of Nagpur city. But during the search operation it is found that the dealer has made imports from out of Nagpur city limit worth Rs. 90.43 lacs and Rs.49.41 lacs for 2013-14 and 2014-15 respectively. As estimated, the dealer is liable to pay LBT on imports of Rs.1.40 Crore approximately, whereas the dealer has not made LBT payment till date. Therefore, the dealer will be penalized as per the rules. Department has seized the accounts and will verify the LBT liabilities on the dealer.
Another search operation was conducted on the establishment named A. V. Solution, Near Dhantoli Garden, Nagpur. The dealer is trading in Electrical Goods and did not file LBT return of Financial year 2013-14. His Purchase value is about Rs. 1.34 Crore, whereas the dealer has not made LBT payment till date. Therefore, the dealer will be penalized as per the rules. Department has seized the accounts and will verify the LBT liabilities on the dealer.
As per LBT Rule 9(1), a dealer liable for registration could not carry the business within the city without obtaining LBT Registration. LBT department has observed that many dealers are purchasing and importing various goods without being registered under LBT. Department is locating such dealers and shall conduct approximately 10 operation on daily basis through various batches of LBT staff.

LBT Officres – Shri Ramesh Giri, Shri Sumer Gajbhiye, Shri Vilas Chahande, Shri Sanjay Mendule, Shri Ramesh Padghan, Shri Suresh Dhupe, Shri Dattaraj Wankhede, Shri Narayan Wankhede and Jr. Inspectors – Shri Surendra Hore, Shri Kailash Ukey, Shri Ramchandra Raut, Jitendrasingh Tomar and other staff. The operations were conducted under the supervision of Asstt.Commissioner(LBT) Shri Milind Meshram; under the able guidance of Municipal Commissioner , Shri Shyam Wardhane and Addl.Dy.Mpl.Commissioner(1).
