Nagpur: In a third case in as many days the sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday arrested a class-III employee working in Land Records Office red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a plot owner.

According to details, the unidentified complainant in his complaint to ACB said that his employer had purchased a 1500 sq ft plot in Bharatwada. A formal application was submitted to the Land Records Office for mutation process so that the said plot is transferred in the name of purchaser. The complainant on behalf of his employer had submitted the application to Land Records Office No. 2 on 11-06-2015. However, for doing this work, the employee of the office Sudhir Rameshwar Kaware (36) sought Rs 10,000 as bribe. Taken aback by the demand, the complainant straightaway approached the ACB sleuths and alerted them on the bribe demand.

Acting on the complaint, the ACB sleuths laid a trap at Land Records Office located in front of Umang Apartment, Ajni. During the trap operation, Sudhir Kaware was found demanding and accepting Rs 10,000 as bribe from the complainant. Kaware was immediately apprehended and an offence was registered against him at Dhantoli Police Station under Prevention of Corruption Act.

The action was taken under the directions of Superintendent of Police Rajeev Jain by a team of ACB sleuths from Nagpur, Chandrapur and Wardha.
