Nagpur:
KTM changed the sports motorcycling scenario in India with the launch of the Duke and the RC series, back in 2011 and 2014 respectively. Cut to 2017, KTM has launched the new generation 2017 KTM RC at Patni Automobile Khamla showroom.

The updated KTM RC 390 was launched at a price of Rs 2,51,944and Rs 2,22,442 (ex-showroom)respectively. The 2017 KTM RC 390 gets significant cosmetic as well as mechanical updates while its younger sibling only gets a new colour and a BS IV compliant engine.

The bigger RC 390 gets a new side-slung exhaust in a bid to make its 373.3cc single comply with the BS IV norms. The liquid-cooled motor also gets a slight bump up of 1Nm in peak torque, pushing it to 36Nm, while the maximum power remains at 43.5PS. The updated bike also gets ride-by-wire technology for a better throttle response while it retains the slipper clutch from its predecessor.

Another major update in the new KTM RC 390 is a bigger 320mm front disc brake, providing it with an enhanced braking performance. Also, the bike now gets adjustable brake and clutch levers, so the rider can set them as per the requirement. The company has also introduced CAN (Controller Area Network) bus in the bike that is a feature mostly used in cars. It simplifies communication between the onboard devices, eliminating the use of so many wires.

An EVAP system has also been put in the new model that prevents vapourised fuel losses. Moreover, the 2017 RC 390 features wider rear view mirrors and a UV protected paint job. Overall, the updates have made the bike around 16.5 kg heavier as compared to the previous model.
