Kalidas festival, which is celebrated in the honor of world-class poet Kalidasa, is held in Nagpur, Maharashtra every year for two days. This festival features some of the well known and greatest exponents of dance, drama and music from all over the country.
The three-day festival was held at Vasantrao Deshpande Hall, wherein many renowned personalities from Music and Dance field made their presence to grace the event.
Beautiful renditions presented by various musicians lifted the mood at this event.
Giving classical dance enthusiasts of the city a dose of Kathak, Artist Guru Shama Bhate and Troup performed an item based on Kathak. The energetic and mesmerizing performance by the group was highly appreciated by the audience.
The Bengali music lovers in large number attended the event to enjoy the ‘Raag Shankara’ by Pt Ajoy Chakrabarty.
The event also lifted when Disciples of Guru Girija Devi, Rahul and Rohit MIshra who belong to one of the most respected families of Beneras presented vocal recital during the event.
The performances made the event a memorable one.
