Kalamna: Robbers fire in air, loot petrol pump, belongs to Mohammed Ali

Nagpur: Three unidentified robbers struck at a petrol pump in Kalamna area in the wee hours of Friday and decamped with cash of NMC 15,000 after firing gunshot in the air.

Police said that the looted petrol pump situated at Kalamna-Kapsi road belongs to Mohammed Ali. It remains open at night. At 3 am on Friday, the employees of the pump were filling diesel in a truck when three masked men arrived on a motorcycle at the pump. Two of them started abusing the employees without any reason, while the third one fired in the air from his country-made revolver.

The robbers threatened the employees with dire consequences and snatched away a bag from them containing NMC 15,000 cash. There were 12 employees at the pump including a guard at the time of the incident. All of them went panicky and ran helter-skelter. Thereafter, the robbers sped away with the cash.

On getting the news, police inspector of Kalamna police station Satyaveer Bandiwar reached the crime scene along with a posse of cops. Later, deputy commissioner of police Abhinash Kumar and additional commissioner of police (crime) Shrikant Tarwade too reached the pump with sleuths of crime branch. A manhunt was launched across the city on Friday to nab the culprits. Kalamna police is investigating the matter further.
