Shahid Kapoor, 34, who is often considered as one of the flawless dancer of Bollywood industry will now be seeing judging a reality dance show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa season 8. The actor will be replacing Madhuri Dixit Nene on the judges corner.
Initially, it was believed that Shahid will be replacing Remo D’souuza. But now it is confirmed that Shahid will be acquiring Madhuri’s seat as a judge. Colors channel CEO Raj Nayak posted on Twitter on Monday- “Colors welcomes the King of dance and actor par excellence @shahidkapoor to #JhalakDikhlaJaa Coming soon #YouthIcon.”
The ‘Haider’ actor, started his career as a student of ace choreographer Shiamak Davar. He has shown his dancing skills at different levels both in India and abroad. This is the first time that the actor will be seen judging a reality show. The ace choreographer Remo D’souza will be replaced by one of the well known choreographers Ganesh Hedge. Shahid, who recently ended up shooting Udata Punjab, will be next seen in Shandaar opposite the stunning actress Alia Bhatt.
Earlier, Madhuri Dixit, who was the face for Jhalak Dikhla Jaa for almost 3 years, claimed in a statement that she opted out off the reality show as she wants to ‘concentrate on other project’ with the Channel. She also said that she has been on Jhalak for year now and she is taking a break to concentrate on other projects. She added that will be back shortly with probably something even more exciting. Madhuri said-“I wish Jhalak the very best for spectacular season.”
So people, be ready to see your celebrity contestants battling in the competition on the dance floor with their respective choreographers to win Jhalak’s Trophy.
