ISCCM Critical Care Nursing workshop held at OCHRI

Orange City Hospital & Research Institute is one of the major private hospitals of region which caters to maximum number of Critical patients, like accidents, poisoning, medical emergencies and medico-legal cases etc. To update nursing staff in areas related to critical care nursing a One day workshop on “Critical Care Nursing” under the aegis of Indian Society for Critical care Medicine, Nagpur Branch was organized recently at Orange City Hospital & Research Institute, Nagpur. Dr. Rajesh Atal, Critical Care Physician & Dr. Ashish Shukla, Chest Physician & Section Coordinator-OCHRI CCU Complex led the team of ISCCM course coordinators.

On this occasion, Dr. Rajesh Atal informed that, “In the present scenario where high quality care is demanded from Nurses in Emergency & Critical Care Units, it is the time to update the knowledge of Nurses. The purpose was to groom their skills in taking care of critical patients in highly professional manner with personal caring touch. This workshop also helped nurses to develop advanced skills for nursing intervention in caring for critically ill patients.”

Dr. Ashish Shukla explained that, this one day workshop provided critical care nurses with an opportunity to renew essential skills required to provide quality care to critically ill patients. The workshop consisted of integrated case based scenarios delivered using high fidelity simulation with hands on training on ventilators and invasive procedures and to become experts in taking care of critically ill patients.

OCHRI has full-fledged Critical care unit with dedicated 40 bedded ICU with NICU/ PICU with state of the art equipment and related diagnostic facilities under one roof managed by round the clock team of full time Intensivists and trained nursing and paramedical staff. It is also a recognized Post graduate teaching Institute by ISCCM.

OCHRI management thanked ISCCM body led by Dr.Deepak Jeswani, Dr. Kamal Bhutada, Dr.Ashish Ganjre, Dr.Nirmal Jaiswal, Dr.Rajan Barokar and Dr. Nikhil Balankhe and Dr. Pradeep Mishra and for reposing confidence on OCHRI. Large numbers of nursing staff from all over Central India were benefited from this workshop.
