Income-Tax Deptt carrys search and seize operation on D P Jain & Company, Om Shivam Buildcon

Stirring the quite morning with sudden action, the officials of the Income-Tax Department carried out a search operation on D P Jain and Company Infrastructure Private Limited and Builder Om Shivam Buildcon Pvt Ltd on July 26, 2016.

Sources claimed that D P Jain and Company is a reputed player in Road Construction and Irrigation works while Om Shivam Buildcon has constructed four residential projects on Wardha Road and another five projects are coming up soon.

Sources added that the officials of the Income-Tax Department simultaneously carried out searches on the residential premises of both the Directors of D P Jain and Company Infrastructure Private Ltd. Deepak Jain and Girish Jain situated near Law College Square, Amravati Road and on Managing Director of Omshivam Buildcon Pvt Ltd. Chandrasekhar Kapse at Pandey Layout.

The official premises of D P Jain & Company Infrastructure Pvt Limited on Amravati Road and Omshivam Buildcom at Deo Nagar, Khamla Road were also covered in the investigation.

In Nagpur, four searches connected with D P Jain & Company Infrastructure Private Limited and three in places like Delhi, Kolkata and Bhopal were conducted simultaneously. The officials of the Income-Tax Department also raided the construction site of Omshivam Buildcom at Chinchbhuvan.

According to some sources three Chartered Accountants namely CA Sanjay Jain, CA Nirmal Agrawal and CA Vandana Gupte who were looking after the books of D P Jain & Company Infrastructure Private Limited were searched by the Income-Tax Department.

As many as 100-125 officials were said to be involved in the investigations. Sources said that a huge tax evasion was committed by both D P Jain & Company and Om Shivam Buildcon which was unearthed by the Income-Tax officials during the routine exercise of assessment.

Many incriminating documents were confiscated and bank lockers were sealed after the investigations.

This raid was conducted by the Income-Tax Department almost after a couple of months and various names kept popping up in chats and was in circulation throughout the day by the rumour mongers.
