New Delhi: Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on Monday launched a verbal attack at newly elected Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath over his advice to cabinet ministers to refrain from making uncalled remarks, saying the latter should first improve himself before advising others.
Speaking to ANI, Singh asserted that, “Yogi Adityanath should improve himself, then advice his ministers to refrain from making unnecessary comments.”
Adityanath yesterday requested his cabinet ministers to refrain from making statements that might hurt people’s sentiments.
“CM has requested cabinet ministers to refrain from making unnecessary statements which can hurt someone’s sentiment,” Uttar Pradesh minister Shrikant Sharma told the media here.
Yogi Adityanath, a five-time Lok Sabha MP from Gorakhpur, was unanimously elected the BJP Legislature Party leader at a meeting of the newly-elected MLAs in Lucknow last evening. He, later, met the Governor and staked claim to form the government in the state.
Senior party leader and Union Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu, who was the central observer at the Legislature Party meeting, said it was a watershed moment for the BJP and it has become a common man’s party. He said, the mandate is for development, and against corruption and black money.
