IGNOU extends fee exemption for SC/ST students to more programmes

ignouNagpur: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is catering to the learning needs of students spread across the country with emphasis on “reaching the unreached”. It has been making efforts in providing educational opportunity to the deprived sections of the society like prisoners, scheduled caste, scheduled tribes, third gender and others. It is striving towards “Inclusive Education”.

IGNOU has been giving Fee Exemption to SC/ST candidates in BA/BCom/BSc/BCA/BSW and BTS Programmes. Now, from July 2017 Session onwards, IGNOU decided to extend this facility to many other Programmes. They include Certificate and Diploma Programmes (including Advanced and PG Certificate/Diplomas) and also Research Degree Programmes. IGNOU is offering around 60 Certificate level and 52 Diploma level Programmes. The University offers Admissions in two Cycles commencing from January and July. The last date of admission for July 2017 session is extended up to 18.08.2017 (except certificate and semester-based programmes).

The SC and ST students who are availing any kind of fellowship or fee exemption from other agencies are not eligible for this fee exemption/reimbursement under SCSP/TSP scheme. The learners have to submit their Caste Certificate and Registration form for Fee exemption of SC/ST Students under SCSP and TSP as given in IGNOU Common Prospectus. It may also be downloaded from IGNOU website: www.ignou.ac.in.

For IGNOU MBA Entrance Exam, form submission last date is 21st August 2017. IGNOU MBA is now open to any Graduate with 50% marks and can be completed in 2 years.
