The show began to a thunderous applause from Nagpurians. Warrant Officer PS Rajan’s band responded with a jazzy “Monika, Ab to Aja” which RD Burman had composed for a Hindi film. This set the tone for the evening. “Mera Naam Chin Chin Chu” had the audience tapping their feet and clapping.

On “Part time lover” the evergreen number, the gathering swayed and was a beautiful tribute to Stevie Wonder. Cpl K Singh won the hearts of all when his saxophone filled magic in the air with a solo performance of “Badal Barse”, “Tum hi ho meri Zindagi” got at loud cheer at the very first note. Mozart’s symphony composed in 1788 was received very well. This was followed by Sgt A Choudhary conducting “Gulabi Ankhen” and “Gore Gore”. Mrs Yunus and Mrs Hemlata Mishra compered the show with aplomb.
