Nagpur/Mumbai: The Governor of Maharashtra Vidyasagar Rao on Thursday told Brand Ambassador of Organ Donation in Maharashtra Juhi Pawar that he was proud of her for showing exemplary courage by donating a part of her liver to her father. The Governor appealed to her to create awareness about organ donation in the State.
Juhi Pawar, named Brand Ambassador of Organ Donation by Government of Maharashtra last month met the Governor at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai.
Maharashtra’s Minister for Water Resources Girish Mahajan, Juhi’s mother Kiran Pawar and Dr Gita Niyogi, the Dean of K J Somaiya Medical College where Juhi is pursuing her second year MBBS were also present.
Three years ago, Juhi Pawar, donated a large part of her liver to her ailing father Dr Ravi Pawar who was battling for life. While her father has since succumbed of other ailments, the State Government has named Juhi Pawar as Brand Ambassador to promote organ donation. (Juhi Pawar’s mobile number is: 9769792239)
