HC dismisses plea against Honey Singh

Nagpur: Justice Arun Chaudhari and Justice P N Deshmukh, at the High Court here, have dismissed in default the criminal writ petition filed by a city businessman, Anandpal Singh Jabbal seeking appropriate direction to the police station officer, Pachpaoli in the city to conduct necessary inquiry /investigation into the alleged offences of showing and singing vulgar songs by Yo Yo Honey Singh through TV in association with others under the provisions of Information Technology Act and the IPC.

It is stated in the intervention application by the singer Yo Yo Honey Singh that during pendency of the petition, the Pachpaoli Police had taken congizance of the petitioner”s report of August 1, 2013 and registered FIR against the intervenor-singer for the offences under sections 292, 293 of the IPC and 67 and 67-A of the IT (Amendment) Act, 2008.

According to the intervenor, pendency of this application, his application for (anticipatory) bail pending before the Sessions Court could not be heard.

Additional PP Shishir Uike appeared for the state. Adv Atul Pande represented the intervenor-singer.
