Green Vigil and NMC organized Painting competition on World Environment Day

With the motive of creating awareness regarding environment pollution and to motivate young generation to the part of “Save Environment” activities, Nagpur Municipal Corporation along with Green Vigil Foundation conducted Painting competition for Children at Children Traffic Park on World Environment Day. This year’s theme for World Environment Day was Raise Your Voice Not the Sea Level”.

NMC Commissioner Shyam Wardhane was the Chief Guest for the program and other dignitaries present on the occasion were Prakash Urade, Dr.Milind Ganvir, Dr.A.Urkude and Mohd. Israil. Mr. Nishikant Jadhav, Retd. Chief Conservator of Forest, MP, Shakti Rattan, renowned stage artist & Dr. Pranita Umredkar were the judges.

Dr. Kavita Rattan, Founder Green Vigil Foundation stated that every possible action to be taken to restrain anthropogenic actions causing Global Warming & Climate Change. Dr. Kavita Rattan also added that the motive behind this painting competition was to educate kids and Youth who are going to be the main stakeholder in future.

Shyam Wardhane highlighted the need of environment protection and sustainable development and the crisis the planet earth is facing due to pollution.

DSC00821Mohd. Israil appreciated kids and their parents for their overwhelming response for the painting competition and invited all to be a part of various environment protection activities being conducted by NMC.

Manasvi Dhruve, Nimisha Tiwari & Yogini Karade were awarded first , second & third price in category 9 -14 years , whereas , Shuhani Rangari, Harshita Bhaisare & Narayani Jodhpourkar were awarded in category 4to 8 years

Kaustav Chatterjee, co-founder, Green Vigil conducted the proceeding, who was ably supported by core Team of Green Vigil including Daksha Borkar, Surbhi Jaiswal, Bishnudeo Yadav, Hemant Amesar, Viswajit Paikrao, Mehul Kosurkar, Pragya Naidu, Nazma Khan, Nilesh Munghate, Heramb chaskar, Dadarao Mohod, Rohini Dable, Vikas Yadav, Sunil Bharal and others.
