Nagpur: The 14th Dr. Vivek Divekar Memorial” State level Intercollegiate Radiology Quiz. – 2017 quiz was held at Government Medical College, Auditorium, Nagpur on 1/09/2017 . This quiz was organised by Department of Radiodiagnosis GMC, Nagpur , in collaboration with Vidharbha chapter of Maharashtra State branch of I.R.I.A. Undergraduate MBBS students of Government Medical College, Nagpur won the 14th State level radiology quiz competition and the team from Grant Medical College, Mumbai was the runner up team.9 teams from all over state participated. After Elimination round, 6 teams were selected for the final quiz.
The quiz was preceded by inaugaral ceremony. Dr. Abhimanyu Niswade, Dean, GMC Nagpur was the chief guest for the function. He in his speech, said that GMCH, Nagpur radiology department is one of the finest radiology department and more investment is in process in the near future to make it even better.
Dr Kajal Mitra Dean LMCH Nagpur shared aneckdocts about life of Late Dr. Vivek Divekar and enlightened that although Dr. Vivek Divekar was quadriplegic , he was full of personality with professional competence , passion for his work and concern for others.
Dr Aarti Anand, Professor & H.O.D of The Department of Radiodiagnosis G.M.C. Nagpur & the organizing chairman of the quiz, remembered the fond memories of Late Dr. Kishor Taori, Ex- HEAD of The Department of Radiodiagnosis G.M.C. Nagpur who was the great mind behind the inception of this quiz which was started 14 years back as a tribute to his teacher and mentor Dr. Vivek Divekar and enlightened about his many contributions to the department.
Dr Suresh Chandak eminent radiologist in Nagpur Past President MSBIRIA also shared his memories with Late Dr. Vivek Divekar and Dr. Prashant Onkar, (President of Vidharbha chapter of Maharashtra State branch of I.R.I.A) appreciated the efforts of Department Of Radiodiagnosis for organising this wonderful event each year.
Dr. Madhusudan Sarda (Consultant Radiologist) , Dr Bhavna Sonawane, Dr Rajesh Dhok, Dr Satish Sorte, Dr Harish Chandak,Dr Dinesh Singh, Dr Pravin Sagole, Dr Ulhas Mahajan & other eminent radiologist from Vidharbha attended the Quiz.
Dr. Sandeep Dhote, Secretary, Vidharbha chapter of Maharashtra State branch of I.R.I.A. and Dr. Ravi Rajdeo proposed the vote of thanks. Prof. Dr. P.P. Gour was the co-chairperson of the quiz and Dr. Amit Disawal & Dr. Jawahar Rathod were organising secretaries.
The quiz had 7 round of Anatomy Radiophysics, Radiology investigations with Medleys and Rapid Fire round .There were interesting questions for the audience too. After the main quiz this year there was a Special quiz of Interventional Radiology dedicated in the name of Dr. Kishor Taori , as a tribute to his tremendous input in establishment of the Vascular and Invterventional Radiology Unit in GMCH and trauma center, Nagpur .This special quiz was conducted by Dr. Jawahar Rathod ( Asoociate Professor ,Interventional radiologist ,GMCH Nagpur ), in which GMCH, Nagpur were the winners and NKPIMS, Nagpur was the runner up team.
Dr. Jawahar Rathod, Dr. Ravi Rajdeo, Dr. Dinesh Sharma, Dr. Vandana Jhanvi, Dr. Nikita Khobragade and Dr. Parvathy Suresh were the quiz masters for the events and were helped by Dr. Aarti Anand, Dr. P. Gour, Dr. Shyam Chhadi, Dr. Ramesh Parate, Dr. Amit Disawal and all the Residents of Department of Radiodiagnosis, Govt medical college.
