Nagpur: The raging controversy surrounding the tainted Head of Forensic Department at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Dr Makrand Vyawahare, it seems, has taken its toll. The heads have started to roll. The Dean of GMCH Dr Abhimanyu Niswade has been shunted out and transferred to Nanded on the same post. Similarly, Dr Golawar too has been shifted to Dhule Government Medical College on the same post of Professor.
The sudden transfers of Dean Dr Niswade and Dr Golawar have left MARD (Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors) baffled for the Association had never sought their shifting.

The MARD had demanded stern action against Dr Makrand Vyawahare accusing of harassment of junior doctors. The harassment had even forced a Forensic PG student to attempt suicide blaming Dr Vyawahare and a female junior doctor lodged a complaint of mental and sexual harassment.

According to MARD, the ongoing probe against Dr Vyawahare will have no effect following transfers of the Dean and the Professor. Earlier, the probe panel was headed by the Dean but it will be headed by Director of Medical and Research and its team.

In the earlier development, the tainted Dr Makrand Vyawahare was transferred to Chandrapur Medical College following the raging controversy and the MARD threat to go on indefinite strike across Maharashtra.
