GMCH holds awareness programme on Basic Life Support to mark World Anesthesia Day

Nagpur: The Department of Anesthesia, Govt. Medical College & Hospital (GMCH) along with Society of Anesthesiologists, City Branch on October 16 organised a programme on ‘Basic Life Support’  (CPR) training, awareness and Pledge/Oath programme for bus drivers, conductors and passengers as well to mark World Anesthesia Day. The programme stressed upon saving life of a person or passenger in the bus in case of heart attack while travelling or in the event of bus meeting an accident by administering the Basic Life Support system.

On the occasion of World Anesthesia Day, resident doctors of Dept. of Anesthesia donated blood at GMCH for the cause of the society and patients.

Dr. Tirpude, Dr. Sangawar, Dr. Tambe, Dr, Ankalwar, Dr. Sheikh of Dept. of Anesthesia, GMCH, Nagpur and Dr. Tamhane, Dr. Barde, Dr. Cham of ISA City Branch extended their guidance to bus drivers, conductors and passengers at the Ganeshpeth Bus Stand between 11.30 am and 1.30 pm. Depot Manager and other officials of ST Bus Stand co-operated with the team of doctors on the crucial awareness programme on basic life support or CPR.

The programme  was organized under the guidance of  Dean of Govt. Medical College and Hospital Dr.Niswade.
