Gang of burglars busted, stolen Jaguar bathroom fittings seized

Nagpur: The Crime Branch Unit 4 of city police busted a gang of five criminals involved in theft of high-end bathroom fittings of Jaguar Company from a distributor’s godown. The cops have recovered the stolen goods and a Bolero car used in the crime.

The complainant Jayesh Bhagwanji Mehta (26), resident of Jamna 3 Apartment, Chhapru Nagar Square, Lakadganj, had told police that his shop Prakash Hardware and Pipe Fitting situated near Kachhivisa Ground, Lakadganj is distributor of bathroom fittings and other goods of Jaguar Company. He told cops that bathroom fittings and other costly material were stolen from Jaguar Godown in Dhantoli in the in the intervening night of September 29 and 30, 2017. Lakadganj police had registered a case under Sections 454, 457, 380, 34 of the IPC and started a probe.

The sleuths of Crime Branch Unit 4 received secret inputs that a notorious goon named Yogesh alias Lucky Shahu (20), resident of Kashibai Mandir, who was externed for his role in many crimes, had stolen the costly bathroom fittings with the help of his four other accomplices. Acting on the tip off, a team of Crime Branch Unit 4, led by API Kiran Chougule, laid a trap and nabbed Yogesh. Cops subjected him to intense interrogation. Buckling to the grilling, the accused Yogesh Shahu confessed the crime and also named his four other accomplices namely Fulchand alias Maza Kamtaprasad Shahu (37) of Shahu Mohalla, Shivkumar Motilal Shahu (25) of Binaki Mangalwari, Pravin Vitthalrao Nerkar (27) of Dasara Road, Kotwali, and Anil Tekchand Shende (38) of Dasara Road, Kotwali.

Subsequently, the sleuths of Crime Branch Unit 4 rounded up all the accused and also seized the stolen material and a Bolero car used in the crime collectively worth Rs 16.54 lakh.

The task was accomplished by Crime Branch Unit 4 team comprising PI Bharat Kshirsagar, API Pradeep Atulkar, API Kiran Chaugule, PSI Vakode, PSI Surajpal Rajput and other staff Raju Dange, Sukhdeo Madavi, Milind Moon, Damahe, Sanjay Devkar, Sudhakar Dhandhar, Satish Nimje, Ravindra Raut, Ramkailash Yadav, Govind Deshmukh, and Prashant Kodape under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Dr K Venkatesham, Joint CP Shivaji Bodkhe, DCP (Detection) Sambhaji Kadam and ACP Somnath Waghchaure.
