FIR against Ex. Corporator for forcible tanker operation to MHADA Colony

Water supply of MHADA, Friends Colony was disconnected on April 2 for dues worth Rs 13.78 lakh

In yet another incident of misbehaviour by public representative, former Corporator Kamlesh Choudhari alongwith 30/40 unidentified residents of MHADA at Friends Colony forcibly took four (4) tankers filled with water and misbehaved with staffers of Orange City Water (OCW) deputed at Seminary Hills ESR (Hydrant) in a full public view on Friday May 1, 2015 afternoon.

Initiating a stern action in this regard OCW has lodged another FIR in this case against former corporator Kamlesh Choudhari and a mob of unidentified people at Gittikhadan police station under relevant sections for using abusive language against OCW official when they were delivering responsibilities during duty hours and forcible tanker operation of water worth Rs 2200.

It must be mentioned here NMC-OCW had on April 2 not only disconnected water supply to MHADA colony located in Friends Colony, Katol Road, under Dharampeth Zone owing to the pending payments against water bill and theft of water but also lodged FIR on April 18 against the MHADA colony has also been registered at Gittikhadan Police station under sections 430 of IPC, in this regard.

It is worth mentioning here NMC-OCW have jointly started a drive against MHADA colonies having pending dues in city recently. From 18 such MHADA Colonies (Pending amount Rs 2.08 crore) located across city, 11 connections having pending amount worth 1.30 crore have already been disconnected.

It is learnt that the MHADA colony at Katol Road had payments due towards water supplied by NMC-OCW. The pending amount was Rs. 13, 78,866. The water supply to the said colony was disconnected on 02nd April 2015. However on 04th April 2015 it was observed that the connection was reconnected illegally and the residents were openly using water. Hence for cognizable offence of unauthorized diversion and acquisition of water the action of disconnecting the supply was initiated and executed against the MHADA.

On May 1, former Corporator Kamlesh Choudhari, alongwith 30/40 residents of MHADA Colony barged into OCW’s Seminary Hills ESR Hydrant and while misbehaving with OCW staffers also forcibly (illegally) took over 4 water tankers to MHADA COLONY (where NMC-OCW had already disconnected water connection).

Initiating a stern action in this regard OCW has lodged another FIR in this case against former corporator Kamlesh Choudhari and a mob of unidentified people at Gittikhadan police station under relevant sections for using abusive language against OCW official when they were delivering responsibilities during duty hours and forcible tanker operation of water worth Rs 2200.

It must be mentioned here earlier too OCW Tanker Managers, Project Managers, Engineer were slapped/manhandled at various places. In those cases also OCW had registered FIR against corporators for manhandling and misbehaving with OCW officials.
