Nagpur: Jomole Mathew (Senior Manager-Process, Petrofac Engineering India Pvt Ltd) and Dnyanesh Kamath (HR and OD, Petrofac Engineering India Pvt Ltd) visited the campus. Guest lecture was organized exclusively for the Chemical Engineering and Petrochemical Engineering students of LIT.

Dr. R. B. Mankar the Director LIT has briefed about the need of such expert lectures in the life of students. He has explained how LIT always keeps on priority the students development in all aspects. J. Mathew discussed on the topic “Process Engineering for Oil and Gas Industries”, in which various technical aspects about the process were discussed. She also enlightened the students about the various fields the company deals with. She had highlighted the current ongoing projects in oil and gas fields and the employment opportunities cropping up in this field for the students.

After this lecture, D. Kamath interacted with the students about the soft skills required in the corporate environment. He had stressed upon the Time management which is the key for the successful career. He discussed about the importance of soft skills and how it complements hard skills, which are the technical requirements of a job the student is trained to do. To be successful in the tough work environment, candidates for jobs need to bring a “competitive edge” that distinguishes them from other candidates with similar qualifications and comparable evaluation results.

Indeed both the sessions were of immense value for the students. After each session the speakers have answered queries of students and clarified their doubts. Dr. R.P Ugwekar Head Chemical Engineering and Dr. G.M. Deshmukh Head Petrochemical Engineering along with the student volunteers coordinated this activity.
