An elderly man was stabbed on his shoulder when he tried to diffuse the fight that took place between his cousin brother and other man following a road rage early Tuesday morning in Hudkeshwar area. Hudkeshwar police booked three persons in this connection. Hudkeshwar police are investigating the case.
The complainant Pramod Puranlal Mankar (38) and his cousin Manikrao Dayaram Bawanthale (55) were riding back home in their Indigo car (MH 34 K 2494) from Ajanta Lawn. An unidentified man came in front of the car in front of Mana bar, Besa Road. When Pramod asked the man to move away from the road, the man put up a brawl with him. Manikrao tried to intervene and dissolve the issue, but the accused got furious and he along with his two accomplices attacked Manikrao with a knife. He sustained serious injuries on his shoulder. Pramod rushed Manikrao to Centre Point Hospital at Medical Square where he’s undergoing treatment. Later, he informed Hudkeshwar police who reached the hospital and took the statement.
Cops have registered an offence under Sections 341, 326 and 34 of the IPC against the accused and started their investigations.
