New Delhi/ Nagpur: A Samajwadi Party leader, Azam Khan, who always prefers living in controversy, said, “Efforts are being put to see that India turns into a Hindu nation,” and cautioned that Rajnath Singh is not the Union Home Minister of Hindus alone; he belongs to whole nation.

He further said, Prime Minister Modi is observing silence after raising a slogan of ‘Gulabi Kranti’ (for beef consumption). He demanded that BJP workers must be restrained from exceeding their limitation. He declared that he wished to take the issue to the UNO, the entire issue, and not merely Dadri issue.

Passing oblique remarks against Narendra Modi, he said,”He claims as if he the care taker of the entire world. He should not forget that ‘Red Carpet Welcome’ was accorded to Hitler also.”

He informed the masses, “Katju (Markandeya Katju, retired judge of Supreme Court and former chairman, Press Council of India) repeatedly said that he had consumed beef many a time. The same is sold out in 5-star hotels too. And who provides licence to them? It is the government.” According to him, if beef eating is objectionable (crime), its serving (to eat) is equally objectionable (crime).
He accused the government of putting efforts to make India a Hindu nation. He cautioned Rajnath Singh that the latter is the Home Minister of the whole country and not of Hindus alone, and so, he should make carefully thought over statements.

Azam Khan clarified why he did not visit Dadri, because his visit to Dadri would provide a chance to people like Sangeet Som, and the innocent people would unnecessarily suffer.
