Drug-peddler arrested near MP Bus Stand, ganja worth Rs 1 lakh seized

Nagpur: The Anti-Narcotics Squad of Nagpur Police Crime Branch on Tuesday arrested a drug-peddler and seized ganja worth Rs 1 lakh from his possession.

A tip-off during patrolling the squad came to know that a person roaming suspiciously at a public place near MP Bus Stand. The squad members surrounded the person and during frisking they found a stock of 10 kg ganja worth Rs 1 lakh in his travelling bag. The drug-peddler, who has been identified as Irfan alias Immu Ramjan Ali (28), resident of Hasanbaug, was placed under arrest. An offence under Sections 20, 29 of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against the accused Irfan at Sitabuldi Police Station.

The action was initiated by PI Panditrao Sonavane and his team of constables under the guidance of Commissioner of Police S P Yadav, Joint Commissioner of Police Rajvardhan, Addl Police Commissioner Shrikant Tarvade, Deputy Commissioners Rajankumar Sharma, Deepali Masirkar and ACP Nilesh Raut.
