Dr Bhagyashri Hardikar, mother of Municipal Commissioner, passes away

nmcNagpur: Dr Bhagyashri Pramod Hardikar, mother of Municipal Commissioner Shravan Hardikar, passed away on Tuesday after a prolonged illness. She was 66. Dr Bhagyashri breathed her last at 7.50 am at the official residence of the Municipal Commissioner in Civil Lines. She leaves behind son Shravan, daughter-in-law Aditi, daughter Shraddha Shinde, son-in-law, and host of relatives to mourn the loss.

The late Dr Bhagyashri Hardikar, after completing her MSc and PhD in Zoology, joined Vaze Kelkar College in Mumbai as a lecturer. She retired from the same college as Head of Zoology Department.

The last rites were performed at Electric Crematorium in Ambajhari Ghat at 6 pm on the same day. A condolence meeting, presided over by Mayor Pravin Datke, was held at the crematorium. The last rites and the condolence meeting was attended by MLA Krishna Khopde, MLC Prakash Gajbhiye, former MLA Yadavrao Deogade, Deputy Mayor Satish Holay, Chairman of Standing Committee Sudhir Raut, Leader of Ruling Party Dayashankar Tiwari, Leader of Opposition Vikas Thakre, Divisional Commissioner Anupkumar, District Collector Sachin Kurve, Police Commissioner S P Yadav, Joint Police Commissioner Rajvardhan, Additional Municipal Commissioner Nayana Gunde, Dr Ramnath Sonavane, Corporators Devendra Meher, Sandeep Jadhav, Sunil Agrawal, former Mayor Kishor Dorle, former Deputy Mayor Munna Pokulwar, BSP Group Leader Gautam Patil, Zone Chairman Arun Davre, Lata Yadav, Sumitra Jadhav, Abha Pande, Harshala Sable, Prakash Totwani, Murlidhar Meshram, Ashwini Jichkar, Deputy Commissioner Sanjay Kakde, Additional Deputy Commissioner Pramod Bhusari, Additional Deputy Commissioner Jayant Dandegaonkar, Chief Engineer Ulhas Debadwar, former Corporators Vedprakash Arya, Manoj Sable, Sanjay Jaiswal, Devendra Waghmare, Personal Assistant of Guardian Minister Manohar Pote, and a large number of officials and citizens.
