Dr Anjali Rahatgaonkar, joint director, higher education fears for life at RTMNU

Nagpur: According to media report, a letter by a lady official from the directorate of higher education to VC S P Kane, has sent shock waves across Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University.

In her letter, lady official has expressed fear about threat to her life from staff at the university.

The lady official, identified as joint director, higher education, Nagpur division, Dr Anjali Rahatgaonkar, is so frightened that she avoids attending meetings at She doesn’t even drink water at the university premises.

Dr Rahatgaonkar was the director of Government Institute of Forensic Science and later became the assistant director at higher education department a year ago. Sources informed that Dr Rahatgaonkar started feeling insecure within four weeks of taking charge of her new post.

Prior to her letter, Dr Rahatgaonkar spoke to vice-chancellor S P Kane over telephone and later, also communicated her fears to him personally at the CAS meeting held recently.

It is learnt that on February 3, Dr Rahatgaonkar wrote a letter to SPKane, mentioning that some officials and staff of the university were maligning her image by leaking personal information to the press. She said that she is going through a tremendous pressure because of this
