Pratap Nagar police have booked a doctor and his father on the charges of cheating a trader to the tune of Rs 5,44,367 and also assaulting him when he demanded the money. The incident occurred on Thursday (October 30).

According to police, the trader Jaliver Dharmaji Gaekwad (49), resident of Plot No. 12, Ayodhya Nagar, Nagpur, showing an immense trust, had supplied TMT reinforced steel bars to the accused Dr Sachin Vitthalrao Jibhkate (33) and Vitthalrao Jibhkate (55), both residents of Plot No. 17, Surya Nagar, Nagpur for their ongoing building construction at Plot No 92, near VRCE Gate in Subhash Nagar from August 8 to October 30. The worth of the supplied TMT reinforced steel rods was Rs 5,44,367. However, both the accused doctor and his father did not pay the bill amount of the supplied material to the trader Jaliver Gaekwad. Subsequently, Gaekwad decided to take back the supplied steel bars and started loading the material in a four-wheeler (MH-31/AP 5209). But the accused doctor and his father, instead of paying the bill amount, stopped Gaekwad and assaulted him. This way the accused not only breached the trust of Gaekwad but also tried to hurt him bodily.

Pratap Nagar PSI Thool, acting on the complaint lodged by the trader Jaliver Gaekwad, booked the accused Dr Sachin Jibhkate and Vitthalrao Jibhkate under Sections 403, 406, 341, 420, 34 of the IPC and probing the matter further.
