Diwali gift for NMC employees as DA hiked by 4 percent

Nagpur: In a Diwali gift to its employees, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has announced enhancement of 4 percent dearness allowances (DA). Mayor Nanda Jichkar and Ruling Party Leader Sandip Joshi have directed the civic body administration to release three months balance amount, pending since last year to the employees. This benefit will be extended to all the employees including retired employees, said the Mayor.

Jichkar further said, the balance amount between July 1, 2016 and September 30, 2016 will be released before Diwali festival at the rate of 7 percent. The new DA will be implemented from August 1, 2017. The NMC will give 136 percent DA to the employees. This will be included in the salary of current month (October) to be paid in November 2017.

Rashtriya Nagpur Corporation Employees Union has demanded to extend benefit of DA to the employees. A delegation under the leadership of Executive President Rajesh Hatibed met Mayor to place their demands. Sandip Joshi, Municipal Commissioner Ashwin Mudgal, former Mayor Pravin Datke, Standing Committee Chairman Sandeep Jadhav, Dayashankar Tiwari, Health Committee Chairman Manoj Chafle, and others were present. The members of the Union, Onkar Lakhe, Sunil Tambe, Ritesh Kashikar, Pramod Barai, Kishor Tidke, Vishal Sheware, Suresh Dhopte, Ram Gaikwad, Rahul Waghmare, Gajanan Jadhav, Meena Nakwal and others were present.
