District Information Officer Thakre accorded fond farewell on retirement

Nagpur: The District Information Officer Anil Thakre was on Friday accorded a fond farewell on his retirement from the service. The farewell function was presided over by Mohan Rathod, Director of Information and Public Relations, Nagpur-Amravati Division and attended by Chairman of Tilak Patrakar Trust Pradeep Moitra, President of Nagpur Union of Working Journalists Brahmashankar Tripathi, Bureau Chief of PTI Joseph Rao, District Information Officer Anil Gadekar, Suresh Bhusari of Marathi Daily Sakal, and others.

Mohan Rathod felicitated Anil Thakre by offering him Shawl, Shriphal, bouquet and a memorabilia. Addressing the function, Moitra, Tripathi, Rao and Gadekar acknowledged Thakre an amiable person who had harmonious relations with media persons. Thakre was hardworking, expert analyst on political and social affairs, they said.

In his presidential speech, Mohan Rathod said Thakre took everybody on board while discharging his duty. He would grasp any subject quickly. He did his job in his long career honestly and dedicatedly. Even though he has retired now, Thakre will have amicable relations with Information and Public Relations Department.

Expressing his feelings, Thakre said he made struggles from the beginning. “I tried to do my job honestly and dedicatedly in my entire service. I am humbled by the honour and the fond farewell,” he said with emotions writ large on his face.

Information Assistant Aparna Yavalkar proposed a vote of thanks on the occasion.
